I like snow. I like winter. I know that a lot of people don't agree with me, and I understand that a good portion of why I like winter and snow is because of my love of skiing. You can't ski without winter or snow!
Anyway, this winter it seems like we kept getting a snowfall or two, and then all of the snow would be melted away the next day. As we all know, that changed this week.
Wow, did mother nature deliver a wallop. I can deal with driving in snow, that doesn't scare me too much. But when you put a layer of ice in the middle the roads certainly get treacherous. The ice we got Wednesday was a sight to see, and a scary one at that. Besides leaving a coating of ice-skate-rink ice on the roads, it coated power lines and tree branches and left a lot of us in the dark for awhile.
I know I wasn't the only one who breathed a sigh of relief Thursday when that band of winter weather finally moved away from the Mid-Ohio valley. I hope you all made it through the storm safely and with power!
Now I'll keep in mind that having snow on the ski slopes in the mountains is wonderful... but I am more than ok with avoiding those winter storms here where I have to drive in it!
