This week's blog talks about the biggest star in the Keeling household- Charley the Cat! Lauren Keeling will explain why he made an appearance during Tuesday's DTV test.
Are you ready for February 17th?
I know I am!
And, it seems, most of you are, too. We have conducted at least three tests that I remember, right off the top of my head, and each time, we get fewer and fewer calls from folks who saw the snow when we flipped the switch. Which is great, because the big switch gets closer and closer by the minute.
The first test, we were fortunate to have our General Manager, Roger Sheppard, joins us for about 2 minutes to talk about the details of the DTV transition. With so many people needing answers to questions, it was a great way to fill up that time!
The second test, we (my bosses and I) decided the folks who DIDN'T see snow when the switch got flipped...probably didn't want more information about something they are fortunately already prepared for. So, we showed you a neat story about UFO's.
This final test on Tuesday was, in my personal opinion, the best yet! As more and more MOV residents got the kinks worked out of their DTV problems, we decided that again, it would be a good idea to reward you with something entertaining and informative....instead of MORE of the same information about the changeover.
Enter Charley the Cat, much to mine and Jim's pride, and his 2 1/2 minutes of on-air snoring. Fortunately, Maryann Hollis with the Humane Society of Parkersburg joined us with some great information about how pets can truly make a difference in the lives of their owners. From physical therapy to mental and emotional therapy...animals are wonderful companions!
I hope, by the 17th, most everyone is ready and can get the digital signal with no interruption. Missing Charley's television debut is bad enough....I would hate for you to miss the news you need to know!
If you have questions, don't be afraid to ask! There are dozens of resources....several of those here at the station. There's nothing we want more than to make sure you don't get left behind!
