I'm spending the day with my mom in my hometown, which strangely doesn't feel like home anymore.
(Mom, if you read this, don't take it personal. Home will always be where you are, but you know what I mean.)
Anyways, we just had lunch and reminisced about my high school years. Names came up that I hadn't thought about in years, and even those I was once good friends with, I can't remember the last conversation I had with them.
I know what you may be thinking; you only graduated five years ago, how could your life possibly be THAT much different?
But it's amazing how much I've changed in that short amount of time, and how much my classmates have changed too! Many of them have families of their own now, and it's strange to see all the different paths we've taken since the tassels went flying.
I've been watching the new show "High School Reunion" where a class that graduated two decades ago now lives in a house together. You have the cheerleader, the class clown, the outcast....you get the picture.
But it got me thinking about what my 20 year, or even 10 year reunion will be like. Will I even know these people anymore? What will we talk about?
I'm also curious about the paths others have taken since receiving their high school diplomas. I wonder who else will feel a little awkward at a high school reunion, and who will feel completely at home. Send your thoughts my way and let me know.
