Looking for a Few Humble Helpers

Cathleen Moxley is asking for some help finding businesses, organizations or individuals that are going out of the way to help those hit by the recession.

Everybody likes the feeling of knowing they've done something good for others. I know I do!!

But not many of us can say we've really went out of our way in tough times to help those who might be struggling.

I will be doing a series of stories that will air April 27, 28 & 29 called "Making a Difference."  It's a lot like what you may have seen on NBC Nightly News.

The segment will feature three separate businesses, organizations or even individuals who are doing something to help someone or a group of people who are really in need of some support at this time.

However, I'm still looking for those three humble helpers! So if you have any ideas PLEASE send them my way. There's an option to submit these ideas on our homepage under "News" on the left side of the screen. Or you can just e-mail them to me at cathleen.moxley@wtap.com, and if you want to make it even easier on yourself, of course you can just leave a comment on this blog.

I can't wait to hear your ideas and to meet some people who are truly "Making a Difference" in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

There is a group of christian students from Marietta College who will be going to Pleasant Plain, Ohio to volunteer for the Mid-Western Children's Home. They will be doing work such as clearing brush, painting, mowing and more. I think you should talk with these young people as they prepare to go to help these underprivileged children. Too often we hear bas things about young people. This is a chance to show how many teens and young adults work on positive projects whether close to home or in other communities. This also reflects positively on the Mid-Ohio Valley. Keep up the good work Cathleen.
