I have been fortunate enough to have had some wonderful birthday celebrations in my lifetime. The most memorable was definitely my 18th birthday, when my mom managed to completely surprise me with an unexpected huge party. I always thought I was a pretty observant person, so the fact that my mom managed to get all of my friends and family together without me knowing it was amazing.
This year, it's the birthday present that is just continually amazing me. Being so close to where I grew up north of Pittsburgh, I tend to drive quite a bit to go back home to visit family and friends. With all that time I spend in the car, I finally decided that satellite radio would be the perfect birthday gift.
Wow, was it ever the perfect birthday gift! I love a nice mix of music and talk radio when I'm driving and there is no shortage of stations to listen to on my satellite radio. Even better, I can listen to almost ANY sporting event happening at any time! Wow! No longer will I be driving and tune in a game just to lose it five minutes later when I get over the next mountain on the road. And there's so many stations that I'm constantly finding new music to listen to. Who would have thought I would be a fan of Alternative Canadian music? I would have never known!
My new birthday present has made my drives seem SO much shorter. And that is the gift that just keeps on giving!
