American Idol Bound!

A big week's ahead for a lucky Parkersburg resident who's heading out to Los Angeles to watch the grand finale of American Idol! It's also going to be a big week for our reporter covering the event!

A big week's ahead for WTAP reporter Cathleen Moxley, as she heads out to Los Angeles to cover the winner of FOX Parkersburg's American Idol Super Fan contest!

Katie Somerville, a student at Parkersburg High School, won airfare, hotel accomodations and two tickets to attend the May 20th American Idol grand finale at the Nokia Center in Los Angeles.  Katie will be attending the AI finale with her big sister, Ashley.

This is third year we've covered the Idol finale in L.A., and this year should be better than ever!

In addition to sending us all the sights and sounds from Katie's and Ashley's excursion, Cathleen also will be checking in with us live via "Skype" on WTAP at Five, which all of us are exceited about.  Cathleen also will be "tweeting" during her trip as time permits.  You can begin "following" Cathleen right now on Twitter so you can be in the loop on all of her updates (and ask her questions, as well!).

So what does a ticket for a coveted American Idol live event look like?  Beats me!  However, here's what Cathleen's press credentials and special parking passes look like...

While Katie and Ashley are sure to have a good time, it'll be a LONG week of hard work for Cathleen.  The assortment of gear and technology to pull off what we plan to do is extensive, so catching rays at Manhattan Beach or touring Universal Studios during her "down time" won't be happening (I am permitting Cathleen to sleep on the plane, though!).

We hope all of you enjoy our coverage!
