I have lived here for a year and six months now so I feel like I know a thing or two about the area. Now technically I have also kind of grew up here. My dad is from Marietta, so Whipple and downtown Marietta was like a second home to me. I remember going to the Washington County Fair every year and running around all day riding rides looking at the animals and coming back to my grandparents camper at sun down with dusty feet. I also remember riding across the hills of Ohio on the back of a four wheeler. I can also recall digging for fools gold in some of the creeks and streams in the area and taking it home with me in my suitcase. So you can see...I came to the area with appreciation in my heart.
Now lets get up to speed....Today I also love the history that is all around here Blennerhassett, Fort Boreman, and Campus Martius. I enjoying seeing people dressed up and dedicated in time period clothing. It's such a rich and informative place to live. I have met some interesting characters here as well, now I wont name names haha. It's also so refreshing to see a community so willing to help with one another for example; the Front Street Fire, Bridget Crock's and Ava Nichols's Illnesses, and Ritchie County Humane Society's Shelter fire just to name a few. Some people here have a lot and some people have a little, but it doesn't matter everyone seems to be so generous and loving not only with their money, but their time. I also love the landscape! I'm such a West Virginia girl...(you know feel better with my shoes off). Really just the beauty that surrounds us is just so amazing. Driving down Interstate 77 during a sunny day or on a crisp autumn afternoon is so worth it.
I'm so happy to be here and consider myself one of you.
Everyone here is so special and unique and make me laugh or smile each day so THANK YOU!
Now it's your turn. What are some of your favorite things about the MOV?
