De-Feet-Ed

The answer to the question everyone's been asking for two weeks.

My right foot was merely in the wrong place at the wrong time...but it led to an injury which, for a little more than two weeks, changed the way I did things.

As I told my doctor, "I'd love to say I hurt it playing basketball, but I'm not what you call a recreational athlete."

What happened was that, while I was getting back into bed (at 5:30 A.M.), the back of my right foot struck the metal bed frame.  After efforts to stop the bleeding were unsuccessful, I went to the emergency room, where I got several stitches.

It required me to walk on a "post-op shoe" (which, to me, resembles an oversized flip-flop).  It wasn't until this past Monday when I started wearing a shoe on my right foot.

It was never particularly painful, except mentally.  Every night I changed the bandage where my stitches were, I had to look at the damage.

But I'm now on the mend.  And I'm watching where I walk when I get into bed, especially in the wee hours of the morning.

Since this blog is on the personal side, I'd like to extend best wishes to former WTAP anchor (2006-2008) Elizabeth Green and her husband, Nathan.

This past Tuesday, they welcomed their second son, Southern.  They have an older son, Saylor.
