Thanksgiving is in two short days, and we recognize this holiday and give thanks for many different things.
The past few weeks haven't been the easiest, sometimes you're just stuck in a rut. While talking to my dad, he told me how lucky I am to have so many great things and people in my life. This got me thinking... "Wow, you're right, I need to be thankful for everyone in my life that makes me a better person."
That's why I'm dedicating this blog to those things and especially people in my life that make my days a little brighter, and when I'm dealing with something not so great help me get through it.
Keep in mind these are in no order, since I'm thankful to have all of these people and things in my life equally. :)
I am thankful for having a father who builds me up everyday, who worked (and still does) hard, who teaches me patience, truth, to see the humor in everyday and who I can talk to about anything. I am also thankful I get to talk to my dad everyday whether it's via phone or "instant message" as he calls text messaging.
I am thankful for my mother who is one of the strongest people I have ever met. She taught me to have my own independence and to have my own opinion. I'm also thankful others get to experience my mother's ability to teach and mold young minds through teaching.
I am thankful for all of my siblings. I love you all very much and see a little of each of you in me. ( Is that a good thing? Ha! Just Kidding!)
I am thankful for having my grandfather in my life for the past 23 years! He has so much wisdom and to hear his stories from the past few decades is truly amazing.
I am thankful for my friends who keep me in place, make me laugh, listen to all my gibberish and complaining. I am thankful for them accepting me for me. I have one very special friend who I don't get to see as often as I would like to, and sometimes that's rough but we make it work. I don't tell him enough how thankful I am to have him in my life because he makes me laugh, listens to my dumb jokes and stories, and just to have him in my life, I'm one lucky girl.
I am thankful to have a job. In this tough economy, many people don't have a job or a prospect of a job.
I am thankful for my education, books, reading and continuing to learn new things everyday!
I am thankful for music. It can change your entire mood, it's therapeutic to me. I'm a singer and there's nothing better than singing at the top of my lungs in my car! :)
There are plenty of other things I'm so very thankful and grateful to have in my life.
When you're having a bad day, week or month.... take a page out of my book and write down things you're thankful and lucky to have in your life. You'd be amazed at how much better you'll feel.
