So, I'm sitting at home, watching the television coverage of Hurricane Irene rake the eastern seaboard this weekend.
The coverage is complete, detailed and excessive. But it's amazing and compelling.
But even so, I tear myself away from the screen long enough for lunch and to realize I need to make a shopping trip to the grocery store for provisions.
As I'm about to check out, I go by a cart labeled "Manager's Specials". On the shelf are a lot of (say, several dozen) of emergency response radios. Some are plug in sets with battery back-up, and some are portable, rechargeable handsets.
Say, these babies are on sale! The white desk top models of Midland Weather Radios are only $15, and the portable ones are $20.
Now, I've long been an advocate of programmable weather radios, but these are too good to pass up.
If ever you have thought or needed advanced weather alerts, whether in your car, out walking or at home.... you owe it to yourself and your family to check out these bargains.
You can find them at Kroger, but you must hurry! This manager's special is going to go fast!
If you're inspired by Irene to become severe weather prepared, check out this special.
