The Italian Connection

How many movies about or set in Italy/Venice, can you name?

It's probably pretty obvious that I took a week's trip through northern Italy for the TV station the first week of October.

However, as I boarded a gondola in Venice, it suddenly occurred to me how many times I had seen these floating boats in movies.

That started me thinking about all the cultural and movie references I knew about Italy.  And I started making a mental list.  See how many of these you either know, or know why it's on the list.  And, please feel free to send me additional suggestions that I have overlooked...

"Roman Holiday" with Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn and Eddie Albert

"The Italian Job" (two versions)

"Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade"

"Moonraker" with Roger Moore as 007

"The Roman Spring of Mrs. Smith"

"Summertime" with Kathrine Hepburn

"Gladiator" with Russel Crowe

"Spartacus" with Kirk Douglas

"Quo Vadis" with Peter Ustinov

"Don't Look Now" with Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie
