Every time I tell people I am headed to the Jersey Shore they immediately think GTL, fist pumping, and lots of drinking.
Actually, when I head to the beach its quite the opposite.
I recently spent a week in Wildwood, NJ during my vacation where my days consisted of sleeping in, usually until 10 a.m. or so, eating delicious Jersey tomatoes, and spending my time with my toes in the sand.
When returning home from the beach the nights were spent sitting on the deck in the company of my family, not partying it up at the club like those kids on the MTV show.
While they live by the saying "G-T-L" (which stands for gym-tanning-laundry), I guess a more suitable acronym for my time spent at the Jersey Shore would be R&R (rest and relaxation) because its a place where I go to get away from it all.
So next time some one tells you they are spending time at the "Jersey Shore" think vacation spot, not Italian party city!
