We've Been Having Fun All Summer Long!
Memorial Day weekend is a beginning...Labor Day weekend is an ending.
Another summer is ending, and you know what that means.
It means the weather will be getting colder, and winter isn't too far away.
While I really don't like hot weather...and it has been too warm for comfort this year...I like walking and driving through, and looking at, snow even less.
Ironically, September is usually one of the better times of the year, because the summer heat is moderating. But when the leaves begin falling, it's a sign one of the best times of the year is ending.
By the way, while many last year were complaining, "Where's Summer?", I didn't mind it as much. It meant my air conditioning/electricity bills were a bit smaller.
But like all change (and I've had my share lately), it's coming...and there's nothing you can do about it.
For quite a few people...namely school-age youngsters...summer is already over. They began returning to class in...of all times...the middle of August,
When I was growing up, Labor Day weekend meant the end of summer. That's because school began the day after Labor Day. I still think Labor Day...not what it says on the calendar...means the end of summer.
This Labor Day weekend, I attended an Ohio University football game in Athens. I had to wear a jacket, because the temperature at nightfall was in the 60s heading into the 50's.
Can fall...and winter...be far behind?
