The waiting is almost over for the 2010 Gator Bowl.
Today selected WVU players and coaches were on hand for the final pre-game press conference. Bobby Bowden was the star of the show. He's saddling up for the last roundup. The Gator Bowl will be Bowden's final game as head coach. He handled questions on the subject with humor and humility.
Mountaineers Coach Bill Stewart was very complimentary of Bowden. He also says his team will be ready to play. Somebody asked Red Williams if he thought Stewart would still be coaching when he's 80. Williams cracked that he though Stewart was already 80.
Both Stewart and Bowden took part in the coaches luncheon that followed. Then this afternoon the players had a walk through at Jacksonville stadium.
Mountaineer fans have hit Jacksonville in full force. The River Walk area is a sea of Mountaineer faithful wearing their Blue and Gold,
The good news is that the rain clouds have appeared to move out of the area.
There's a WVU rally set for this afternoon at Jacksonville landing. The WVU Marching Band will play for the Mountaineer fans.
Then its a big outdoor party for New Years Eve. Tens of thousands of revelers will swarm the downtown area for music, food, and fun. Then at the stroke of midnight, a fantastic fireworks display will bring in the New Years with a bang.
