Just an Old Shoe...

Who knew there could be so much history in a worn out sneeker?

The pair of shoes have seen better days.

They were white, at one time, but that was years ago.

Sometime in the last two years, they got a replacement, but the original pair are still servicable... just barely.  There are holes in the toes, seems are letting go, the shoe laces have been knotted and tied again and again.

These days, these shoes are only used for lawn work, mowing grass, climbing the ladder, wallowing in the muddy section of the yard... tasks that would discolor and abuse newer shoes.

In fact, at one point when the household task required a cement saw, these shoes were worn and were coated with wet, sticky cement dust that the saw kicked out.  The resulting drying process coated them in a shell of stiff powder.  They still are not very flexible to this day.

But another concern with this pair of worn out shoes is the impact on one's feet.

I've noticed the day after I wear these shoes for a project, that I'll almost always have a limp, a joint that doesn't quiet work right, or something.

So I think that it's true, you need good foot support...arch support,  and a quality pair of shoes can make all the difference.

You know, my second set of replacement shoes are just about shot too.  Maybe I'll just pitch that oldest set and go shopping this weekend.

After all, it will help stimulate the local economy too!
