This is my personal blog, not a News Story. As such it represents my own opinion and not that of the station nor anyone else.
It's that time of the year, when we start making final plans and arrangements for the upcoming trip.
This season, it is the railroad and motor coach trip from Chicago to Glacier National Park, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. It's a fabulous trip put together by Holiday Vacations and offered to our viewers.
This particular trip has proven so popular, that three individual trips were booked solid...and so the first group of three is about to depart.
People ask me if I get excited about these trips, and I must confess that I try to keep myself in check until the week before departure. Then, as we see what the weather patterns are going to be, and I see the work schedule for the week, it starts getting real for me.
The last load of laundry, the packing of the bags, the double-checking to make sure all the bills are paid... (don't laugh, it's a real concern when you're far from home and thinking of other things!) All these things start to make me excited for the trip.
To add to this, we have started talking about a destination or two for the following year. And while I can't reveal anything specific, we have a couple of great trips under consideration.
So, if you couldn't join us for this upcoming trip, please keep in mind that Holiday Vacations and WTAP are planning for similar trips next year. And we'd love to have you come along. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
