Planning an Alaskan Vacation?

I'm getting inquiries about where we're likely to travel next year on the Holiday vacations outing.

I got a phone call this week from a couple who had traveled with us to Hawaii a few years ago.

I recognized the name immediately from the voice mail, and wanted to call them back, but it was too late at night when I call the message.

They want to know if we're planning a trip to Alaska next year, next summer, because they've been invited to travel with another couple to Alaska, and wanted to go with us.

Isn't that kind of them?  They wanted to travel with me and my wife and the friends of WTAP on a planned trip so much, that they are thinking of us before accepting another invitation to travel.

Wow!  I'm really flattered.  But then, I know that Holiday Vacations schedule good trips and take care of all the details, the meals, the transportation, the luggage, and so as a traveler, you don't have many worries.  Just what you want to wear today, what you want to order to eat, and when the motor coach is planning on leaving again.  And even then, that's not hard to handle with a traveling companion.

So, I returned the call at a decent hour, and let them know that we (WTAP) are planning the details of a trip next early summer.  It is likely to start in late June and return on the July 4th holiday. It was the best deal we could get and should fit in nicely with existing commitments.

There is some question if the station can spare me for that 14 day trip, and so, I may come join the trip after the journey from Anchorage to Denali, to Fairbanks.  But then, I would enjoy Fairbanks, White Horse, the Yukon, Scagway, and the 4 day cruise down the inland waterway back to Vancouver and the flight home on the holiday.

The official announcement of the trip will happen later this year, and a commercial is likely to be recorded and aired later on. But as far as I know, the dates and my participation have been confirmed.

So, if you or your friends have been thinking about taking this trip and cruise to Alaska, start planning and saving your money.  The travel show will happen after the first of the year and you can get all your questions answered by the travel professional.

So, when you hear the rumor about a trip to Alaska, you can nod your head knowingly.
