The Great Raccoon Hunt Update

The lastest total in live trapped raccoons so far this summer. How many more could possibly be in the gaze?

I did a little research into raccoons today.

The question came up, what do you call a collection of raccoons?  A warren?  No, that's rabbits.

So with a little help from the internet and we learned that they could be called a "nursery" for younger coons, or,  a "gaze".

The reason I ask, my family has trapped over 21 raccoons so far this summer, courtesy of the dog warden who has lent a live trap to us.

It boggles the mind that so many of these scavengers could be living so close to our home in the city, doesn't it?

Oh, sorry, that was covered in an earlier entry...which this is just updating. The area Dog Warren comes to remove the live trap, and one of their employees uses the coons in a regional "coon hunt competition" for dogs. Or so I'm told...
