It's been a little while since I told you of our progress at riding the world of raccoon, one at a time.
The Animal Control Officer has lent us a live trap to lure the bandits into for a human removal.
We've had a mixed bag of success and failures. But it is apparent that peanut butter, fresh and lots of it, will lure the bad boys into the trap.
EVERY night this week, we have had a new raccoon caught when we wake up in the morning.
And each noontime, the human officer comes at our request to remove the varmint.
The funny thing is that the first night, we caught THREE siblings all in one trap! The three were pretty unhappy, crying for their momma, and crawling all over each other.
When the control officer came, he remarked that they were bigger than he expected, and that he had a pick-up for a LARGE one across the street at a neighbor's house.
So far, our total has been 13 raccoons caught over the last month or so. Am I amazed?
Who would have thought so many raccoons were hanging out in our neighborhood?
Or maybe the word is spreading, "Hey, free peanut butter buffet over that the Greenfield's place...no waiting on seating!"
