Submission Guidelines

Events cannot be added to the calendar unless you provide ALL of the information required. Especially important are the DATES & TIMES of the event as well as COMPLETE location information INCLUDING the CITY and STATE. All submissions must be received at least 2 WEEKS before the scheduled event!

By using this form, you provide WTAP-TV with all the appropriate information and in the layout we can best use it which helps us get items posted more quickly. It still may take a business day or two before we post your event. Please submit your event no less than two weeks in advance and, preferably, 4 weeks in advance. You may submit an event up to 6 weeks in advance but it generally will not appear on the web calendar more than 4 weeks in advance of the event.

If you choose not to use this form, you must mail your event listing, at least 4 weeks in advance, to WTAP-TV, Attn: Community Bulletin Board, One Television Plaza, Parkersburg, WV, 26101. We do not accept CBB listings over the phone.


The purpose of our web channel calendar and our on-air Community Bulletin Board announcements is to provide a format for non-profit organizations to promote their upcoming special events. (We do not post routine monthly meetings or services as we believe that your members should be aware of those times.) When submitting an event, please make sure you specify which non-profit organization(s) benefits from the event. Also, the street address of the event location is very helpful. You are inviting the public to your event and they may not be familiar with your location.

Please note that any contact information may be made public unless you provide both public and non-public contact information. A phone number is the preferred contact method.

If you have more than one event to publicize, submit each event as a separate submission. (WTAP-TV reserves the right to limit the number of events posted for an organization at any time and will generally only post one event at a time per organization.)

We do not accept political announcements or games-of-chance (bingo, raffles, etc.) for the calendar or CBB.

All events used on-air in Community Bulletin Board Public Service Announcements on WTAP-TV, FOX-Parkersburg and My5 are selected from our webpage listings so it is not necessary to submit your event to the webpage and separately to CBB.

Due to the volume of items we receive not all submitted events will air on CBB. CBB events usually appear on-air no more than 10 days before the event date.

Finally, DO NOT SUBMIT IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. These submissions will be DELETED.

Images should be in .jpeg or .gif format. Recommended image size is 640x480 and file size should be less than 2mb per photo.
All fields are required! A valid email address is necessary if we need to follow up with you to get more details or verify any details of the event you have submitted.
