Funeral procession to honor former firefighter and captain

BARLOW, Ohio (WTAP)- Fire departments and emergency personnel throughout Washington County came together to honor a well-known firefighter who recently passed away.

A funeral procession was held today for 55 year-old Warren Ely. He died on February 5th.

Ely was the fire captain at Wesley Volunteer Fire Department.
He also worked at C&C Toyota in Marietta and recently became a chaplain.

Many that knew him said he was committed to his work and to helping others.

The procession started at Barlow’s funeral home and ended at Bartlett cemetery.

Some fire departments that participated in the procession included Wesley, Belpre, Barlow, Oak Grove, and Little Hocking.
