99th Habitat for Humanity MOV dedicated Sunday

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - The 99th Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley home was dedicated Sunday in Parkersburg.

Amber Bartlett and her four children were the center of attention at the dedication ceremony in their new home on Park Street. Her family says it was about a two year process, and that they will move in in about one month.

It is a five bedroom, two bathroom home, but everyone says the kitchen is their favorite room.

The PM Company was a major sponsor of the home through its Spirit of Giving MOV initiative. More than a dozen people came together for the ceremony made up of family, friends, volunteers, donors and organizers.

Amber’s mother Bonnie says, "When we started this journey, she like a lot of people in the community thought I’m not going to quality for that for don't make enough money for that but we were pleasantly surprised. It’s a great program”

In 2017, 22 people moved into their new home with the help of about 85 volunteers and 2,500 hours per house.

The Habitat for Humanity MOV is building five homes in 2018.
