PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP)- A non-profit that helps the homeless plans to make a special announcement during a celebration dinner later this week.
Plans for a sober living facility will be unveiled November 9th at 6:30 pm.
Over the years, the Latrobe Street Mission has expanded to better serve the community.
It has a thrift store, kitchen and dining area, and a clothing recycle center to help the homeless get back on their feet.
Members of the non-profit say with all the good things happening they wanted to share that with the community through this dinner.
Jim Sims, Board of Directors Chairman, explains a little about the organization and the dinner. "We are a 24 hour mission. Right now our census is about 35. This dinner is all about a celebration. We are asking the churches and the individuals and the businesses that have helped us through the years to come and look at us. Come and see what we have done with their money. Come and see how we have been able to use their donations and provide for the community."
