PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP)- Even though we're still a few holidays away from Christmas, businesses are already preparing for it.
Starting Tuesday, September 26th, the Salvation Army will be taking applications from families that want to apply for the angel tree program.
Early registration helps to ensure all the paperwork gets done and the businesses involved can also prepare.
Major Cathy Riley, representative of Salvation Army, says “And that give them a couple weeks to shop and make sure. We have some companies that take a 100 kids and that takes a little work on their part to make sure they are covering everybody. And then we have a short deadline of Dec. 8th or 9th that we have to have those gifts back so that we can have our warehouse ready to make sure no kid is left behind and nobody gets dropped between the cracks. That is why the process takes a little bit of time.
The application process will be available September 26th and 27th from 10 am to 3 pm and September 28th from 2 pm to 7 pm at the Salvation Army.
