Boil-water advisory in place for sections of south Parkersburg

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. - A section of south Parkersburg is under a boil-water advisory following a water leak early Thursday.

The Parkersburg Utility Board issued the advisory after crews repaired a leak in the main line at Camden Avenue at Wigal Street.

The advisory is for customers between 900 to 1810 Camden Avenue and for those on Phillips Street, Wigal Street and Lauckport Lane.

Residents are advised not to drink the water without boiling it for at least one minute. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing and food preparation.

The advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe.
