Cleaning up storm damage at Point Park

PARKERSBURG, W.Va.-(WTAP) The recent snowstorms, rains and temperature changes have left their mark on Parkersburg's Point Park.

The melting snow and rain led to high water, which left behind a muddy mess on the riverbank and the park's parking lot.

Wednesday, Parkersburg city workers were busy cleaning It all up.

While the entrance to the park was closed during the recent bad weather, the floodwall itself was left open. When flooding that potentially could affect the downtown area is anticipated, the floodwall is completely closed.

Public Works Director Everett Shears says the cleanup is expected to take a few days.

More rain and snow is expected by the weekend.
