PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP)- A bank is celebrating their 100 years of business in Parkersburg by giving back to the community in a special way.

Community bank will have a motivational speaker on bullying prevention at wood county schools.

On Wednesday, middle schools like Edison, Blennerhassett, and VanDevender heard from author and speaker Tom Thelen on bullying prevention.

Marketing Director, Mary Ann Laughery, said “When we started planning on how we wanted to celebrate that anniversary, we wanted to do a yearlong celebration of giving back to the community. We wanted to focus on different areas of the community and the children are one of those. We feel like our kids are our greatest asset and we wanted to make sure that we were giving back to the kids in the community.”

Thursday, Thelen will be at Hamilton, Jackson and Williamstown middle schools to talk about how to prevent bullying.
