Emergency center open for flooding in Meigs County

The Robert E. Byer Emergency Operations Center has been activated in Meigs County as the county gets ready for their second round of flooding in the last seven days. At 11 am the river gauge in Racine is at 39.12 feet with a flood stage of 41.2. In Pomeroy it was 42.1, with a stage of flood stage of 46.1.

The river is expected to crest Monday night or Tuesday morning at Racine at 48.2 and 51.8 in Pomeroy.

An evacuation center has been set up at the Meigs County Council of Aging at 112 East Memorial Drive in Pomeroy for anyone whose house is impacted by the flooding. Anyone who needs assistance in transportation to the center is to call 740-992-4726.
