If Marietta residents or businesses got sandbags from the Parking Partners lot, you may return them to the lot. City crews will dump the sand and hold onto the bags. Or, you may dump the sand and hold on to the bags yourselves for next time. Leaving sand in the bag will cause it to break down, city officials say.

The city of Marietta has re-opened Third, Fourth and Butler streets, which had been closed because of flooding.

Motorists are asked to use caution as water is still present on many streets. The city says crews are cleaning up mud and other debris as qucikley as possible.

Pike Street and Gilman Avenue remain closed.

According to the NWS, the following areas along the Ohio River in Marietta could be impacted by flooding this weekend.

The Ohio River is expected to reach a crest of almost 39 feet in Marietta by Sunday.

Below are the levels at which flooding occurs in the listed areas.

39 ft.- Pike street at Lafayette, Greene at Third Street, Jefferson Street at East Eight Street, Third Street between Butler and Church Streets, and Second Street at Wooster Street are all flooded.

38 ft.- Elmwood Avenue at Ash, Hart, Pike and Charles Streets at Seventh Street, Church at Second Street, Butler at Fifth Street, Ohio Street at Second and Third Streets are all flooded.

37 ft.- Hart Street at Ash and Fourth Streets, Stark and Jefferson Streets at Seventh Street, Fourth Street at Butler Street, Second and Third Streets at Church Street, Spike Streeet at Olney Street, Lafayette and Wayne Streets at Eighth Street, Greene Street at Fifth and Sixth Streets are flooded.

36 ft.- Pike Street at the entrance to Phillips Elementary School, Elmwood Avenue and Hart Street start to flood. Eighth at Ohio and Stark Streets start to flood. Second and Third Streets between Green and Butler floods.

35 ft.-Stark Street at 7th Street, Pike Street at Wayne, Elmwood Avenue and Greene Street at the center of Don Drumm Field are flooded.

The National Weather Service in Charleston WV has issued a flood warning for the Muskingum River, affecting Morgan and Washington counties in Ohio.

Rain coupled with saturated ground has cause the Muskingum River to rise. More rain is expected today and this will continue the runoff into the Muskingum River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around and don`t drown. Do not drive into areas where
water is flowing over the roadway. Most deaths occur when motorists
try crossing flooded roads.

At 6:45 AM Friday the Muskingum River level was 27.3 feet. The flood stage is 29.0 feet.
Forecast...rise above flood stage by late this morning and continue to rise to near 30.3 feet by this afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage by tonight.
At stages near 29.0 feet...Low areas, and farmland, camps, and a few homes are flooded. Sections of Route 60 one and a half miles, and four miles downstream from Beverly are flooded.
A crest near 30.3 feet compares to a previous crest of 29.2 feet on March 2, 2017.

River and small stream levels across the Mid-Ohio Valley are rising Friday morning after more than an inch of overnight rain.

As rain continues falling, Flood warnings issued by the National Weather Service office in Charleston, W.Va., remain in effect until 12:45 p.m. across Washington, Athens, Morgan, Perry and Vinton counties in Ohio.

Meigs County is under a flood warning until 1:30 p.m.

In West Virginia, flood warnings are in effect in Wood, Pleasants and Tyler counties until 1 p.m.; Jackson, Mason, Ritchie, Roane and Wirt counties until 1:30 p.m.; and Calhoun; Doddridge and Gilmer counties until 2:15 p.m.

As of 8 a.m., the Ohio River at Marietta was at 27.4 feet and rising. It's expected to crest about 33 feet sometime on Sunday. Flood stage is 35 feet.

As of 8:45 a.m., the Muskingum River at Beverly was at 29 feet. It's expected to crest sometime Friday at about 30 feet. Flood stage is 29 feet.

In West Virginia, the Little Kanawha River at Elizabeth was at 21.3 feet at 8 a.m. The flood stage there is 36 feet.

Several road are closed across the region because of high water.

In Wood County, the 911 center says that as of about 8 a.m. flooding was occurring at 36th Street and Core Road; in the 4500 block of Stillwell Road; along Old St. Marys Pike and Newbanks Road; on Laurel Creek Road from from Old St. Marys Pike to the 400 block; the 4700 block of Lee Creek Creek Road; the 400 block of Lower Pond Creek Road; Waverly Road and Fenton Lane and Big Tygart and Sams Creek Road.

The Ohio Department of Transportation District 10 office in Marietta says State Route 26 between Marietta and State Route 260 east was closed as of 9 a.m.

In Athens County, State Route 685 between State Route 78 and State Route 13 was restricted as of 8:15 a.m., meaning water was partially covering the roadway.
