MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - A historic barn in Marietta is getting a much-needed touch-up.
The Biehl family has a barn painted with a rare Mail Pouch mural. It was last repainted in 1988.
They qualified for a grant that helps preserve this kind of artwork.
The painter hired for the job, Ruston Baker, has a lot of surface to cover since the barn is two stories.
"Our grandfather had the barn built. We never knew our grandpa because he passed away in 1950 when my father was young, so we never got to know our grandpa, but this is our way of preserving his legacy," said Lisa Almond, a member of the Biehl family.
The barn was built in 1935.
