I - 77 accident leaves teen lucky to suffer only minor injuries

WOOD COUNTY, W.Va. (WTAP) - Winter weather has made conditions tough for drivers, including a teenager who was lucky to walk away from a nasty accident, with only minor injuries.

Sergeant Pickens of the Wood County Sheriff's Department says 19-year-old Colton McGlothlin hit ice while driving southbound on Interstate 77, before the Staunton Avenue exit.

It happened just after four p.m. Saturday. He says once the driver gained traction he crashed into the guardrail and rolled three times. McGlothlin self-evacuated from his 2008 Toyota pickup truck with minor injuries.
