WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) - Legalizing marijuana has been an ongoing battle for the buckeye state, and nation-wide.
Tuesday legislators met to discuss forming a control group comprised of individuals who represents multiple aspect of the Ohio population.
That group of representatives would then help law makers to discuss regulations for medical marijuana manufacturers, sales, and production.
A fear lawmakers are facing in Ohio is caused by drug abuse is so prevalent, legalizing marijuana may increase the opioid usage.
Marijuana is known as the gateway drug, and lawmakers feel people may abuse the privilege.
Representative Andy Thompson said that he and his fellow law makers will continue meeting every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday until a resolution is reached.
