Wood County man could spend 10 years in prison for shoplifting from 3 local stores

PARKERSBURG A Wood County man who plead guilty to shoplifting from 3 local stores could spend up to 10 years in prison, after being sentenced Thursday in Wood County Circuit Court.

Daniel Armando Banales, 37, of Wood County, received a one-to-10-year sentence on Thursday for his guilty plea to third-offense shoplifting.

A Wood County grand jury indicted Banales in September..

As part of the sentence, Circuit Judge Robert Waters ordered Banales to pay a total of $1,336 restitution to Wal-Mart stories in Vienna and south Parkersburg and the Kroger store on 7th Street in Parkersburg.

The thefts took place in April and May of 2016.
