HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A man was hurt after police say he tried to rappel with a garden hose from the third floor of a parking garage in downtown Huntington.

Christopher Sowards fell onto the alley near the parking garage at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 8th Street – just across from the Big Sandy Superstore Arena. It happened Sunday night.

Interim Huntington Police Department Chief Hank Dial says Sowards also is a suspect, saying he broke into two vehicles in the parking garage.

Police found a bag of tools near Sowards, as well as two grams of marijuana and items believed to have been stolen from the vehicles.

Sowards is charged with petit larceny, destruction of property, breaking and entering into a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.
