MARIETTA, Oh. (WTAP) - With the return to warmer weather comes unique opportunities to support the community.
Marietta Main Street opened its first farmers market of the year at Armory Square Tuesday.
The event is in its third season. Local vendors are invited to sell their summer goods like fresh produce, sweet treats and more.
Main Street says its mission is to connect local entrepreneurs with the community.
"We really just want to create a safe space where there is really low overhead for folks to come out and gauge how the community supports them," Main Street Executive Director Cristie Thomas said, "and just right in the heart of our town have access to healthy nutritional food that is grown locally just to pair that with supporting our downtown shops and our local restaurants at the same time."
The farmers market is open every Tuesday from 10 to 2 p.m. through late August.
