Marietta Municipal Court to be closed Monday-Wednesday due to flooding

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Due to the major flooding expected in Marietta and other areas of Washington County, Marietta Municipal Court will be closed for all purposes except for jail prisoner arraignments and protection orders on the following dates:

Monday, February 26th
Tuesday, February 27th
Wednesday, February 28th

Cases and Court appearances now scheduled for those days have been continued and re-scheduled.

If you are represented by an attorney, contact the attorney’s office for more information.

If you do not have an attorney, contact the Court at 740-373-4474 for your new court date.

Court telephones should be in operation and will be staffed from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm provided the Sheriff has not declared a Level 2 Emergency. The Court phone number is 740-373-4474.

NOTICE: Municipal Court Jail Arraignments and Protection Order Requests will be held at 8:00 am each business day including next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Please check the Municipal Court and City of Marietta Facebook pages to learn whether these limited hearings will be held at Municipal Court, Corner of Third and Butler, Marietta OR at the Washington County Jail, 101 Westview Avenue, Marietta.

Please allow enough travel time in the event you are required to use alternate routes.
