UPDATE: Marietta woman recovering from stab wound; police still investigating

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - UPDATE: 02/16/2017 1:30 P.M.

A 35-year-old Marietta woman is recovering today after police say she was stabbed Wednesday evening.

Acting Marietta Police Chief Aaron Nedeff says Heather Knotts was stabbed in the abdomen at a residence on Marietta Lane.

Police were called to the scene about 10 p.m.

They are not releasing details while the incident remains under investigation.

Nedeff says Knotts underwent surgery at Marietta Memorial Hospital last night and is expected to recover from her injuries.

Though he didn’t release information about a suspect, Nedeff says “there is no threat to the general public at this time.”

Marietta Police confirm officers are on scene of a possible stabbing within city limits Wednesday night.

Details are extremely limited at this time, since officers do not want to release additional details.
