COOLVILLE, Ohio (WTAP) - An educational meeting in Coolville explained the ins and outs of fracking.
It was hosted by Torch CAN DO. An expert with the Buckeye Forest Council explained what injection wells do to the environment.
She also explained how the process can contribute to earthquakes. Another topic that was touched on during the meeting is the possibility of fracking in the Wayne National Forest.
"If you don't know what is in your community, if you don't know how it works, then you can't fight the problem, so you have to know and be educated about these injection wells," said Felicia Mettler with Torch CAN DO.
According to study by Torch CAN DO, in a 24-hour period, over 100 trucks went to the K&H injection well in Torch.
