RACINE, Ohio (WTAP) - A Meigs County woman was found dead in her home on Sunday, possibly from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Meigs County Sheriff Keith Woods says on Sunday, at 4:34 P.M., deputies responded to a request to do a welfare check on a person at a home on Main Street in Racine, Ohio.

When deputies arrived on-scene, water was running out of the home and carbon monoxide alarms were going off inside the home.

Deputies forced entry into the home and found the resident, Lois M. Plotner, 57, dead inside the home.

The cause of Plotner's death is unknown at this time, but an autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of her death.

Meigs County EMS units and Meigs County Fire Department units also responded to the scene.
