MARIETTA, Ohio - A group of Mid-Ohio Valley residents has formed a solar co-op to save money and make going solar easier.
The group, which is seeking new members, will host an information meeting at 6 p.m. today in the Graham Auditorium at Washington State Community College.
The purpose is to educate the community about solar energy and the co-op process. Anyone interested in joining the co-op can sign up at http://www.ohsun.org/mov or http://www.wvsun.org/mov/
Joining is not a commitment to purchase panels. Once the group is large enough, co-op members will select a single company to complete all the installations.
Members will then have the option to by panels individually based on the installer’s group rate. Participants can save up to 20 percent off the cost of their system.
