PARKERSBURG, W.Va.-(WTAP) We're nearing the end of a decade-which means federal officials are gearing up for another census count.
A representative of the U.S. Census Bureau briefed the Wood County Commission Thursday on plans for the 2020 count of the nations-and the area's-population.
The bureau will be sending Wood County information some time in 2018 on how it plans to take that count.
The information will include updated residential and business addresses.
Janet Spry of the Census Bureau said West Virginia is one of the few states whose counties provide digital maps to the federal government to help track down those addresses.
Wood County set up a mapping system when it adopted the 911 system in the early 2000's.
