NORTH HILLS, W.Va. (WTAP) - The town of North Hills spread holiday cheer Sunday, in a first time event.
Residents of North Hills gathered at the town pond where they decorated live Christmas trees.
Neighbors enjoyed hot cocoa, cookies and music waiting in line to ride a horse drawn carriage.
A festive pony made an appearance, and many children were shocked when even Santa Claus stopped by.
Mayor of North Hills Diane Burd says, “We've worked really hard as council this year to try to develop different ways that we could bring the community together and foster getting to know one another and be a town and be able to know who our neighbors are in times of good and bad and be able to be neighborly. We want to be more than next door neighbors; we want to be a family."
This was the first year North Hills had a Christmas event, but organizers say it was a great turn out.
