(WTAP) - Some critics are hailing a new documentary about a West Virginia urban legend "a must watch film".
"The Mothman of Point Pleasant" is a documentary film about the 1966 and 1967 sightings of a flying red-eyed creature in Point Pleasant.
It's produced by Small Town Monsters, an Ohio based film company that explores 'lost and bizarre history' around the United States.
Seth Breedlove, the film's director, says he was intrigued by the collapse of Point Pleasant's Silver Bridge, which strangely marked the end of the sightings.
"We're drawn to it because of the fact that it's got this intensely personal angle which would be the silver bridge collapse," he said.
"But also the effect that the sightings had on some of the people who lived through them. We just wanted to be able to tell a sort of chronological look at everything that happened between 1966 and 1967 culminating with the collapse of the Silver Bridge."
