PARKERSBURG, W.Va. - One driver was injured and another received a citation after a 2-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Parkersburg.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened at 5:22 A.M. Thursday, in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 50, at the I-77 interchange.

Deputies say a vehicle driven by Perry McDonald was stopped at a red light in one of the eastbound lanes of U.S. 50, when a vehicle driven by Codi Bryant rear-ended McDonald's vehicle.

Bryant told deputies at the scene he had fallen asleep at the wheel of his vehicle and crashed into the back of McDonald's vehicle.

McDonald was taken to Camden Clark Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Bryant was not severely injured, but was given a citation for Failure to Maintain Control.
