PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - A Parkersburg pet groomer's quick thinking saves a dog's life.
Groomer Karly Milligan was having a normal day last Friday at Crazy Bones Pet Spa, on 19th Street in Parkersburg.
She was grooming a Pekingnese dog named Lola, when things took a turn for the worse.
Lola had all of sudden gone limp with no pulse.
Karly quickly started CPR and within two minutes, Lola sprung back to life.
"Probably two to two and half minutes past and I could slightly feel that heartbeat start coming back. So as I was doing compressions, I had Vanessa do the last two breaths for me. And I felt that heartbeat in my hand and I lost it. I cried and cried and cried. It was surreal."
Lola was taken to the vet and diagnosed with a heart murmur and an enlarged heart.
The vet said Lola would not be here without Karly's heroic actions.
