Point Pleasant man hurt in garbage truck crash in Washington County

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - A Point Pleasant man was hospitalized after the garbage truck he was driving rolled over in Washington County.

Ohio State Highway Patrol officers say at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, a Rumpke Waste and Recycling garbage truck rolled over on a curve on County Road 4, also named Waterford Road, near Marietta.

The driver, Robert Wallace, 22, of Point Pleasant, W.Va., got out of the truck on his own and went to a nearby home to call 911.

Wallace was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash.

Waterford Road was temporarily closed while a wrecker crew cleared the crash scene.
