W.Va (WTAP): West Virginia had its' first Uber ride Tuesday, taken by some very familiar faces.
Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and U.S. Senator Joe Manchin took an Uber trip from the Capitol Market to the State Capitol Tuesday.
After their ride, Manchin and Tomblin announced Uber's launch in Charleston and Morgantown.
A law that passed July 1 allows ride-booking companies like Uber and Lyft to provide their services.
Companies offering rides must comply with nondiscrimination laws.
Uber says hundreds of drivers have already signed up.
