Vandals spray graffiti on antique trains at Historic Harmar Bridge Company

MARIETTA, OHIO (WTAP) - A Marietta restoration project is taking two steps back after vandals spray painted several antique trains over the weekend.

The defaced rail cars are owned by the Historic Harmar Bridge Company and are in the process of being restored.

The 30 year-old company also maintains the Harmar Bridge.

The vice president of the company says it was approximately two weeks ago, when their hard work was destroyed.

Chuck Swaney says, "It was over night. It was on a Saturday night and it was very disheartening to us because we're going to have to clean them, repaint them and that's going to be a very expensive process to us. Probably a thousand dollars or more that we don't necessarily have."

Swaney says the company may look into buying a security system to prevent other incidents in the future.
