UPDATE: Both lanes of Route 16 near Ellenboro exit reopen after vehicle knocks down power lines

RITCHIE COUNTY, W.Va. (WTAP) - UPDATE: 11:43 p.m.

All lanes of Route 16 have reopened.


ORIGINAL STORY: 08/12/17 8:19 p.m.

An accident in Ritchie County temporarily shut down both the north and south bound lanes of Route 16 Saturday afternoon.

Ritchie County 911 dispatchers say a vehicle struck telephone poles on Route 16 near the Ellenboro exit around 2 p.m.

The vehicle knocked down some power lines, which resulted in the closing of both the north and south bound lanes in that vicinity.

One of the lanes reopened just after 3:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported in the accident.

Mon Power has been on scene to repair the lines.
