Vienna residents without power after telephone pole falls

VIENNA, W.Va. (WTAP) - After a bizarre incident between a tow truck, semi-truck and a telephone pole, residents on Bull Creek Road in Vienna went without power.

Mon Power responded to the scene quickly, as the tow truck drivers were stuck with wires dangling outside their doors. The semi- truck caught the lines while it was being towed, and the Vienna Fire Department says the moist ground caused the pole to come down with it.

Multiple trucks from the power company were called in to raise the pole and allow the tow truck to get out from under it. There were no injuries but the Vienna Fire Chief says the situation could have been a lot worse.
